INSIDE/OUTSIDE statement:
Art is defined in many ways, but the art that I do, or is represented to me is that art should breakout of reality and shake hearts and minds, raise questions, change personalities and ideas toward specific things. every finalized creative work should be the current step for a new one from another person. Thus creating perpetual change. Art is really way to go beyond the different faces and impact the brain of the audience directly. in a way, to be a revolution against self-righteousness, from this chaos comes the new ideas and this influences art, this make new artists, or at the very least make way to create change. The effect of artworks are like water ripples, they intercept creating higher waves or lower troughs changing form of a pond on a molecular level. This movements makes change that are reaction to smaller things. however this course on humans is not like a pond, water takes back its former form, but humans change form the intercept and stay at that points or go further. and this creates a change on a bigger scale. community could commune through art to a higher state of intellect. This is the idea behind the technic, concept, goals of my artworks.
Statement from Hair Project inside the exhibition:
Hair is the most seen part of a person the highest, most flexible and a really beautiful part of our bodies .Yet hair is ruled by so many things it never is. it has been the center point of many things regarding appearances, it has been cut off and hidden and shattered and burned throughout history by religion, higher people and power. It was always the part to mark a human. The visibility of hair and its fragileness through history has led to the act of being controlled by those in power to judge whether it is short or long, to be good nice, bad, dirty, clean, in reality it is just hair, it is my hair if someday my long hair didn’t make you ask “why?” then it shouldn’t when it is short. This project contains the following artworks, connected but different and is part of INSIDE/OUTSIDE exhibition
The performance artwork itself is me physically shaving my hair. I want to point out that I mentioned physical, because shaving hair is related to a lot of myths in society. beside the foul mark of it, it is also looked at as running away from problems, and to represent comfort or being free, and how much short hair is overrated it is looked at very differently, however I put this video as a way to say that they are actual myths, because here it is it is just hair and goes away, it is shaved and no more there, yet my problems stays, and I stay the way I am.
